The pandemic hasn’t left anyone or any organisation untouched. Throughout the past 18 months, the increasing prevalence of digital tools has changed the way our supporters interact.
We’re taking a look at some of the new ways donors and volunteers support our charity cause. First, it’s important to highlight that donors have not stopped giving.
“I have seen many major donors continue the giving they had already committed to, and some who have increased giving to include emergency COVID-19 .

Giving to charity Strengthens personal values
People feel they have a moral duty to use what they have, to help others, a sentiment very much rooted in our own personal values.
Having the power to improve the lives of others, is to many people a privilege and comes with it's own sense of obligation. Acting on these feelings is a great way to reinforce our own personal values and beliefs and feel like we are living in a way that is true to our own ethical beliefs.
Giving has more impact than ever
Many people are concerned that their donations to charity may be reduced by tax or administrative costs, preventing the full amount from reaching the people it's supposed to help.
Thankfully there are ways to make the most of every donation to charity.
If you are a UK taxpayer you can boost the amount of every donation you make by giving through Gift Aid, an income tax relief created to help charities get the most out of the fund's they recieve, as Gift aid enables the charity to recover the basic rate of tax on your donation, the scheme adds 25p to each £1.00 you give at no extra cost to you.
Starting a tradition with your family of Donating to charity is easy. Create a family donation box that everyone can add too and nominate a family charity every year and involve your children in which charity to support.
Thank you for bringing comfort and reassurance to older and disabled persons at this difficult and uncertain time.
